BLABBERBOP BLABS TO THE BUMBLE

The next day, “Noodle Blabberbop” (and his toy sheep) held a press conference at the offices of the Daily Bumble to announce that he would be performing at the Bumblyburg Music Hall.

Everyone at the Daily Bumble was excited by the news. Everyone except Bob, that is. Bob was annoyed that the floors hadn’t been mopped because Larry the janitor hadn’t shown up for work yet.

“That’s right,” said Larryb … um … Noodle. “My appearance at the Music Hall will prove to everyone that I am truly the world’s best yodeler!” “If you’re the world’s best yodeler, how come we’ve never heard of you?” asked Junior Asparagus.

“Well … um … that’s because I’ve spent the last seven years in … outer space. Yeah! I’ve been the yodeling ambassador to Jupiter!”

“OOOOH!” said Junior. “I’ve always wanted to go to Jupiter! What are the aliens from Jupiter like?”

“Um … no more questions about Jupiter,” said Noodle. “I was an ambassador and a spy! It was all very, very top secret,” he added. Larryboy didn’t like having to pretend he was someone else. It made him very uncomfortable.

Vicki took a picture of Noodle as the other reporters continued to ask him questions. She leaned toward Junior and whispered, “Does Noodle look familiar to you?”

“No, why?” asked Junior.

“I don’t know. There’s just something about him. I think he’s kinda cute!” said Vicki with that look on her face that she normally only got when Larryboy was around. Junior just rolled his eyes.

“Please take plenty of pictures!” said Noodle. “I want to be on the front page, so that everyone will know about my performance!”

“I think we can put you on the front page,” said Editor Bob. “Unless there’s a bigger story today … like a story about all the horrible things I’m gonna do to our janitor when he finally shows up!” Noodle gulped nervously.
